Lassen D.E.N. Medieval Combat Weapons Group Meetings. Every other Wednesday this month from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM at the Susanville Senior Citizens Clb, 1700 Sunkist Dr. Susanville, CA 96130. This is a hobby group for those interested in the weapons of the medieval era. The facilitator will be teaching people the basics of weapon use that he knows, as well as being open to group members to learn from them. Together group members will focus on discovering different ways to handle a variety of weapons and learning about the history of the weapons. This event is for ages 12 and up. It is free, but please register online so we know how many people to expect.
Lassen Volcanic National Park “Manzanita Lake Ranger-led Snowshoe Walks”. January 3rd at 1pm, Loomis Ranger Station, 1 1/2 to 2 hr. walk, $1 donation requested, shoes provided, reservations required for groups but not individuals or families. Lassen Land & Trails Trust “Cabin Fever Relief Snowshoe, Ski & Soup”. January 24th at 8:30 am cross country ski trip to Butte Lake, 1pm snow shoe hike or regular hike if no snow, 5pm soup dinner at the historic RR Depot. For more info go to www.lassenlandandtrailstrust.org or call (530)257-3252.
